A Farmington man claimed the second top prize on the Missouri Lottery’s “Harley-Davidson®” Scratchers ticket on April 29. James Simpson, 50, bought the winning ticket at Murphy USA, 1021 Walton Drive, in Fredericktown. He scratched off the $75,000 prize later at home.

“I got home about nine o’clock at night and scratched it off,” recalled Simpson. “I was pretty excited.”

He added that he did some kind of “happy dance” before calling his brother with the good news.

Simpson stated that he would use the windfall to pay off his car and then save the rest. Although the game features instant-win prizes of a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle, he admitted he was playing for the cash prizes.

“Just keep playing,” he suggested to other players. “You’ll find one someday, I guess.”

Harley-Davidson” is a $5 game that officially began March 11. The game features three top prizes of $75,000 and 10 motorcycles that can be won instantly. In addition, players can enter their non-winning “Harley-Davidson” Scratchers tickets into one of four drawings in the Lottery’s “Ticket To Ride” promotion to win:  a Harley-Davidson motorcycle of their choice or $21,000; a $500 cash prize; or an officially licensed Harley-Davidson merchandise prize pack. Players can enter the promotional drawings online through a free My Lottery® Players Club account, and they also will automatically earn points to be redeemed for prizes in the Lottery’s online Points For Prizes™ store.
