It was an exciting weekend for one Missouri couple. Not only did Osage Beach lovebirds Gloria and Robert O’Keefe celebrate 51 years of marriage yesterday, but they also won a $100,000 Missouri Lottery prize just two days prior. The windfall will allow the couple to actualize their long-term goal of paying off their home early.

Robert wasn’t with Gloria during her shopping trip at Hy-Vee, 929 Highway D in Osage Beach, last Friday, but a memento he left with her prompted her to purchase a “$100,000 Taxes Paid” Scratchers game.

“I don’t usually play,” Gloria admitted. “But I had $5 in winnings from one of his tickets in my pocket, so I thought, ‘Why not? I’ll just get another ticket.’”

Before driving home, she uncovered the top prize while sitting in her vehicle.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Gloria beamed, adding that she and Robert will “pay some bills, invest the rest and just play it cool for a while

$100,000 Taxes Paid,” a $5 ticket with a top prize of $100,000 taxes paid, officially started on April 15. The O’Keefes claimed the first of five top prizes available in the game. Thousands of additional prizes, ranging from $5 to $10,000, remain in play.
