SPRINGFIELD NURSE UNCOVERS $10,000

A 35-year-old private nurse that is in tune to her "gut feelings" won $10,000 this morning in the Missouri Lottery’s "Anniversary Celebration" Scratchers game. Mary Jane Latham said a lucky feeling prompted her to buy two of the $5 instant tickets. When she left the store, got back into her car and scratched off the latex, she discovered that one ticket was worth $10,000. Latham said she plans to pay off bills with the prize money. She also would like to help her family. She purchased her winning ticket at QuikTrip, 325 W. Cardinal in Springfield. "Anniversary Celebration" is one of two new instant tickets the Missouri Lottery is offering in honor of its 15th anniversary, which was Jan. 20. It has a top prize of $100,000, the highest currently offered in a Scratcher game.
