A Quick Pick Powerball ticket from Quick Chek Market in Sikeston turned out to be worth $100,000 to a local man, when all five of his white-ball numbers matched all five drawn on Feb. 3. J.W. Staggs, 60, of Sikeston purchased his winning ticket the same day as the drawing, when he stopped in Quick Chek, 1801 E. Malone. The random computer-generated winning numbers were: 21, 27, 29, 41 and 44. Staggs, a truck driver, said he found out about his luck on Feb. 4, after checking his ticket with a winning numbers report his wife, Brenda, picked up at a Lottery retailer. Brenda Staggs told Lottery officials they plan to pay bills and invest some of the windfall. They may also take a cruise. The Powerball jackpot for Saturday night’s drawing is up to an estimated $80 million. To date, 513 Powerball tickets worth $100,000 have been sold in Missouri since the game began in 1992.
