POWERBALL TURNS UP THE POWER WITH NEW FEATURE

Powerball just got better - up to five times better! Starting March 4, the Missouri Lottery will offer a new feature to the popular Powerball game called Power Play. For an extra $1, players will have the chance to multiply winnings up to five times the original amount, with the exception of the jackpot. This means the second-place prize of $100,000 has the potential to reach a half of a million dollars each drawing! To play using the new Power Play feature, players should complete a special Power Play playslip found at Missouri Lottery retail locations. The Power Play feature costs an additional $1, so the total cost for one Powerball play with the new feature is $2. Winners who select the Power Play option will be able to win from $3 to $500,000 depending on the number of balls matched and the Power Play number. Prior to each Powerball drawing at 9:59 p.m. CST on Wednesdays and Saturdays, a wheel will be spun that has 12 spaces labeled with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The wheel contains four "5s" and two of each of the other numbers for great odds at increasing the $3 to $100,000 prizes. "Players who select the Power Play and win will have very good odds of increasing their prize," said Scott White, on-line product manager for the Missouri Lottery. "Power Play is a way to make a great game with terrific prizes even better."
