Springfield Man Scores $100,000 Missouri Lottery Prize
Kenneth Huff of Springfield is using a $100,000 Missouri Lottery prize to alleviate a nagging financial burden. The 49-year-old’s brush with Lottery luck in early February will allow him to pay off his home mortgage much earlier than expected.
“It was pretty exciting!” Huff exclaimed, referring to the moment he uncovered his “$1,000,000 Payout” Scratchers prize while on break at Price Cutter Plus, 2021 W. Republic Road, in Springfield.
Huff joked that his excitement wasn’t exactly shared by his co-workers, who he explained often combine their money to buy $10 or $20 Scratchers games, with the understanding that, if anyone wins, they’ll split the prize equally.
In this instance, his co-workers’ loss was his gain, because nobody opted to contribute to the $10 ticket that yielded a $100,000 prize.
“They were mad they didn’t split one with me that day,” Huff teased.
,” a $10 game with a top prize of $1 million, officially started on Jan. 10, 2012.
