Rebecca Snow of Grain Valley is a dedicated Missouri Lottery player, and that dedication paid off in the form of an $81,000 Show Me Cash jackpot on Nov. 7. Snow used her own numbers, a series of dates and lucky numbers she settled on months ago. She learned there was a winner in her area while shopping at a local grocery store.
“I was at the grocery store, and I saw that someone had won the Show Me Cash at a Casey’s in Blue Springs,” she recalled. “I live in Grain Valley, but that particular day, I bought them (tickets) in Blue Springs. I thought, ‘There’s no way it’s me.’”
Snow decided to let the clerk check her tickets before she left the store. When the clerk told her she would have to file a claim with the Lottery, Snow said she felt “straight panic.”
“It was a little crazy there for a few minutes,” she admitted.
Snow claimed her ticket at the Kansas City Lottery office on Nov. 9.
Plans for the windfall include paying off a new car and supporting her husband, who just had surgery. She noted that the win came “at a good time,” and that she would continue to play for another jackpot.
“You can’t win if you don’t play,” she added. “I’ve been saying that for a long time.”
Snow purchased the winning ticket at Casey’s General Store, 2424 S.W. 7 Highway, in Blue Springs. The store will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The winning numbers for the Nov. 7 drawing were: 8, 13, 18, 28 and 33.
Show Me Cash is a daily Draw Game with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until someone wins. Snow claimed the 225th Show Me Cash jackpot since the game began in 2008.
