A Vietnam veteran claims his life “has totally changed” for the better after winning the top prize of $100,000 on a Missouri Lottery “Smokin’ Hot Cash” Scratchers game. William “Bill” Cote bought the winning ticket at Caseys General Store, 502 E. Washington in Ava, on Nov. 2.
“This comes at a really good time,” Cote said, noting that, thanks to the win, his future plans now include a home and a car.
Claiming his prize at the Lottery’s Springfield regional office, he happily recalled the moment the top prize was revealed.
“When I scratched the first number on the ticket, it said $5,000,” Cote said. “I just kept scratching, and they were all $5,000. I was happy about the first one, but when I saw the others, I couldn’t believe it!”
“Smokin’ Hot Cash” officially started Aug. 11. In addition to the $100,000 top prize, the $5 game also offers thousands of other prizes ranging from $5 to $20,000. Remaining prizes for “Smokin’ Hot Cash,” and all other Missouri Lottery Scratchers games, can be tracked at MOLottery.com.
