Ardie Jolliff will go down in Missouri Lottery history as being the second player to capture two Show Me Cash jackpot prizes. The Valley Park man’s most current win came on Oct. 28, when he used Quick Pick to match all five numbers drawn. The feat earned the repeat winner $216,000. He purchased his winning ticket at Valley Deli, 320 St. Louis Ave., in Valley Park. The winning numbers were: 11, 17, 27, 31 and 37.
Nearly two years ago, Jolliff had his first brush with lady luck when he won $403,243 for matching all five of his Quick Pick numbers in the Show Me Cash drawing on Nov. 8, 2010. Jolliff bought that winning ticket at Corner Market, 700 St. Louis Ave., in Valley Park.
When asked how he planned to use his second windfall, the tree-service business owner said: “Same as before – put it in the bank and keep working.”
As for advice for other hopeful winners, the daily player said, “Just keep playing.”
Although Jolliff isn’t the first person to win two Show Me Cash jackpot prizes, he has collected more than half a million dollars in Show Me Cash loot. In turn, making his two-draw winning streak the most lucrative for recurrent winners in the game. The first player to claim two Show Me Cash jackpots, Chapelle Norise of St. Louis, won a total of $110,000 ($60,000 on April 7, 2009, and $50,000 on Oct. 23, 2009).
Show Me Cash offers a rolling jackpot starting at $50,000, which increases by at least $5,000 at each drawing. Since Show Me Cash sales began in 2008, more than $32 million in jackpot prizes have been awarded. Jolliff is the 117th and 221st jackpot winner.
