May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery, was recently elected secretary of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL). Along with providing input and direction on executive decisions, Reardon will be tasked with preparing an audited financial statement and a full financial report annually, recording votes, and maintaining records and record books containing bylaws, special rules and minutes.
“I’m honored to be selected to be a member of this board, and I look forward to working with the other members to make important decisions that will impact North American lotteries,” said Reardon.
NASPL, founded in 1971, now actively represents 52 lottery organizations across the United States, the Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
“We’re pleased to have May join our executive board,” said David Gale, executive director of NASPL. “Her knowledge and background in finance, government and communications will be a huge asset to the committee in providing advice and direction.”
Reardon has been the executive director of the Missouri Lottery since 2009. Prior to that, she was an assistant vice president at Regions Morgan Keegan in St. Louis and director of development at the Richard A. Gephardt Institute for Public Service at Washington University in St. Louis. In addition, Reardon taught political science and communications at Webster University.
Reardon holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Saint Louis University and a master’s degree in communications from Webster University. She currently also serves as NASPL’s Region III Director and on the executive board of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) as chair of the Finance and Audit Committee.
