ST. LOUIS WOMAN CLAIMS HALF OF INDEPENDENCE DAY JACKPOT

A St. Louis woman came forward to claim half of the Fourth of July Missouri Lottery Lotto jackpot worth $4 million. Susan Arb, 48, claimed her prize Friday with a ticket she purchased at 7-Eleven, 703 Union Road in St. Louis. Another winner from Springdale, Ark., also matched all six numbers to share the jackpot equally with Arb; they will each receive $2 million before taxes. Arb used "Quick Pick" to select her lucky numbers. The winning numbers were: 2, 9, 15, 27, 37 and 44. In addition to Arb’s win, 7-Eleven will receive a check for $20,000, an amount equal to 1 percent of her winnings, for selling the winning ticket. This is the second jackpot ticket sold at this 7-Eleven location. On Sept. 30, 2000, the store sold one of three Lotto tickets that matched all the numbers drawn that night to share the $6.8 million jackpot. Each of the three winners received approximately $2.2 million. To date, 169 jackpot tickets worth $1 million or more have been sold since the Missouri Lottery began nearly 15 years ago. Of those tickets, 122 were sold through the Lotto game.
