Lottery Prize Puts Renovation Plans into Action
A Sedalia couple has captured some spare cash, courtesy of the Missouri Lottery. Delmy and Enrique Barcenas said they were feeling “thankful and blessed,” while claiming their $5,000 prize at Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City. According to the pair, Delmy purchased the winning “Money Bags” Scratchers ticket on a whim yesterday at Woods Supermarket, 701 E. Broadway, in Sedalia.
“The extra money will make things easier,” Delmy explained, noting she, her husband and two daughters “kept counting the ticket to make sure it was right” after uncovering the prize.
The first-time Lottery winners plan to use the winnings to make long-awaited home improvements.
“We thank the Lottery and God for the win,” Delmy added.
