Columbia Man Using Lottery Loot for Las Vegas Vacation
Forest Shoe has some “extra cash to spend,” thanks to a fuel stop on July 22. The retired district sales manager and his wife, Betty, were en route to their great grandson’s birthday party in Chillicothe when they pulled into the parking lot at Break Time, 2441 Pioneer Road, in Boonville. In addition to leaving the store with a full tank of gasoline, the Columbia couple also drove off with a Missouri Lottery “Money Bags” Scratchers ticket, which coincidentally held a $5,000 prize.
“I’ve had good luck on that game, winning a little bit here and there,” Shoe explained, noting he was “very surprised” when he scratched off the prize amount.
“We’re going to Vegas on Saturday, so this was great timing,” he shared.
Shoe added that he and Betty are accompanying their soon-to-be 21-year-old grandson to Nevada to celebrate his birthday, so the windfall will enable everyone to “have more fun.”
” a $3 game with a top prize of $50,000, officially started on June 6.
