St. Louis Man Wins $100,000 Lottery Prize
A St. Louis man claimed a $100,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery “Black Pearls” Scratchers ticket. Antonio Pitti bought the winning ticket at 7-Eleven, 2807 Sulphur Ave., in St. Louis.
“I go everyday over there,” said Pitti in a thick Italian accent. “Might as well enjoy it while you can. I do my best to enjoy my time scratching them off. I get a winner, loser - hey, it passes my time.”
The retired GE employee got a winner on July 8. At first he thought he had won $20, but then he quickly realized it was a $100,000 prize.
“I called my son at home and said, ‘Al, we’ve got to take a drive to Luckytown,’” he recalled.
Pitti said he would give some money to his kids and put the rest in savings. When asked if he would continue to play the Lottery, the answer was definite.
“You bet,” declared Pitti. “It’s only money. The kids are going to have it when I’m gone. I’ll enjoy it while I can.”
” is a $5 game that officially began April 21. Pitti claimed the fifth top prize in the game. More than $8 million in prizes, including four top prizes, remain. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at Molottery.com.
