JACKSON MAN WINS $100,000 PLAYING POWERBALL

Richard Rioux of Jackson could not believe how much money he had casually carried around in his pocket for a few days. He had made it a habit to let his Missouri Lottery Powerball tickets accumulate before he checked to see if he had any winning numbers. To his astonishment, a Powerball ticket he had bought on July 4 was a $100,000 winner. He bought his winning ticket at Fruitland D-Mart Citgo located at 4531 N. High in Jackson. Rioux, a 46-year-old construction manager, said he usually stops there to put $18 of gas in his car and spends the rest of his $20 bill on Missouri Lottery tickets. Those two dollars finally paid off. Rioux let the computer pick the lucky combination on his ticket. Those numbers were: 3, 25, 26, 28 and 30. "The store clerks were more excited than I was," he said. "I didn’t want to advertise my excitement, although my hands were shaking." Rioux has not made many plans for his money yet, although he does plan on tucking most of it safely away in the bank.
