Columbia Woman "Blessed" With $10,000 Win
Marissa Lewis of Columbia is having a run of good luck. The 30-year-old healthcare worker recently accepted a new job in Kansas City and now has money to move, thanks to a $10,000 Missouri Lottery prize. She bought a “Red Hot & Wild 7’s” Scratchers ticket on June 25 at Eastgate Foods, 2006 E. Broadway, in Columbia.
“It’s the first $5 ticket I’ve ever bought,” began Lewis. “It was just a whim.”
Lewis explained that she normally sticks to the $1 and $2 tickets. She scratched the ticket at work on her lunch break.
“I screamed, showed everybody and teased a couple of people,” she recalled about the moment she won $10,000. “It happened around 12:30, so yeah, I’ve been excited for a few hours.”
After landing a new job and a $10,000 Lottery prize, Lewis joked that she should buy a Powerball ticket.
“It just happened, so I’m being blessed all around,” she concluded. “The majority of it will be moving expenses. I’ll probably do some things with the kids.”
While she admitted that she’s probably used most of her luck, Lewis suggested other players remain positive.
“Just keep going. You never know what’s in store,” she offered.
