Show Me Cash Dream Comes True For St. Peters Man

Story Photo audio icon A St. Peters man who dreamt about winning the Missouri Lottery claimed a $472,000 Show Me Cash jackpot on June 4. Travis McClure, 39, bought the winning ticket at 7-Eleven, 6680 Mexico Road, in St. Peters. He said the dream led him to buy multiple Quick Pick tickets for the June 3 drawing.
“I dreamed that I had won it,” stated McClure, noting that it was the same amount as his jackpot. “My method was to go to 7-Eleven to play at about 12 p.m., and then I was going to go back last night to play again at 8 p.m.”
Caught up in a basketball game, McClure didn’t return for more tickets, but he didn’t need to. He already had the winning jackpot ticket. He realized it while scanning the tickets following the drawing.
“I went to go pick my child up, stopped at QuikTrip and went to check my tickets,” he recalled. “I had like $22 worth of tickets that I had bought, and I got down to the last few tickets. I saw that $472,000 pop up there, and it was like, ‘Is this for real?’ I didn’t know whether to scream, run, jump, shout…”
McClure said that he exchanged a few smaller winners “and got out of there.” He celebrated with a late night run to the Waffle House with friends.
Plans for the windfall include a new work truck and license to “enjoy it.”
“You only live once, so you have to enjoy it while we’re here,” he counseled.
The self-employed construction worker said he plays all of the games “faithfully” and especially likes Show Me Cash, since it’s a Missouri game. He suggested others keep playing, and he indicated that he’s not done winning.
“Just continue to keep playing,” he said. “You can’t win if you don’t play. It’s not over – this is just a start. I need that Powerball money!”

Show Me Cash is a daily Draw Game with jackpots that start at $50,000. McClure is the 202nd jackpot winner since the game began in 2008.
7-Eleven received a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The June 3 winning Show Me Cash numbers were:  8, 19, 27, 28 and 33.
