Kansas City Man Claims First $100,000 Top Prize in New Scratchers Game

A ticket purchased at Fuel Trip, 10416 Blue Ridge Blvd. in Kansas City, revealed the first $100,000 top prize in the Lottery’s new “$100,000 Mega Fortune” Scratchers game. The $5 ticket was purchased by Lovie Adger of Kansas City on June 5.

Adger, 59, said he normally plays a $10 game, but he decided to try something new.

“I just tried it, and it worked out really well,” he said with a laugh.

He said he realized he had won something big when he scratched off the “star” symbol, an indication that he had won all the prizes available on the ticket.

“I didn’t believe it really existed; I thought it was just something printed on a ticket,” he said of his win. “But I believe it now!”

Adger said plans for the prize money are still under consideration.

“The first thing will be to put some up for savings,” he explained, noting that future purchases will require a lot of thought. “I want to be careful with the decisions I make with this.”

Eight top prizes of $100,000 remain unclaimed in the “$100,000 Mega Fortune” game. The game officially started May 26, offering more than $18 million in total prizes. All remaining prizes can be tracked at Molottery.com.
