$1 Million Powerball Prize Claimed

Story Photo The $1 million second prize from the Feb. 8 Powerball drawing has been claimed by a trust. The BIODTL Trust presented the winning ticket to the St. Louis Lottery office on May 14. A spokesperson for the trust said the winning ticket was carried around for two months before the winner learned of the $1 million prize by scanning the ticket at a retail location. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Schnucks Market, 60 Hampton Village Plaza, in St. Louis. Schnucks received a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Players who match all five white-ball numbers win the second prize of $1 million. The Feb. 8 Powerball numbers were: 17, 28, 38, 39 and 51.
Powerball is a multi-lottery Draw Game with jackpots that start at $40 million. Tickets cost $2 and drawings are held on Wednesday and Saturday nights. For an extra $1 at the time of purchase, players can add Power Play to their ticket to win larger non-jackpot prizes. The second prize with Power Play is $2 million.
