Florissant Woman Wins $100,000 Scratchers Prize
A Florissant woman’s prayers were answered on Mother’s Day with a $100,000 Missouri Lottery prize. Between jobs, Patricia Williams, 49, stopped at Mobil On The Run, 9403 Page Ave. in St. Louis, where a “20X” Scratchers ticket caught her eye.
“I won $5 on a ‘Black Pearls’ ticket, and I took it back inside and cashed it in for another ‘Black Pearls’ ticket and a ‘20X’ ticket,” explained Williams. “The ticket kind of jumped out at me, so I got that ticket.”
Williams said she uncovered the prize later at work.
“I scratched the first number off, and it said $5,000,” she recalled. “I said, ‘No, this is not right.’ So I kept scratching and the numbers kept getting bigger. I was really excited. I couldn’t sleep at all last night.”
Williams said she had been watching the prizes remaining in the game on Molottery.com and had dreams about winning $100,000. She asked her mother for help on Mother’s Day and claimed the prize at the St. Louis Lottery office the next day.
“I asked my mother yesterday, and she’s deceased; I said, ‘Let some come this way.’ And I guess she did. My dream came true,” concluded Williams.
It was a timely win for the mother of two, who plans “to get out of debt” with the windfall.
“It feels good,” she said of the win.
” is a $5 game that officially began Jan. 10. Williams claimed the seventh top prize of 12 in the game. More than $11 million in prizes remain. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at Molottery.com.
