St. Clair Woman Surprised with $77,000 Win
Julia Lackey of St. Clair “couldn’t believe it” when she uncovered a $77,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery “Red, Hot and Wild 7’s” Scratchers ticket in early May. The 66-year-old purchased her winning ticket at Gas Mart, 1445 N. Main St., in St. Clair.
She and Eugene, her husband of 28 years, plan to use the windfall to pay bills and “take a little bit of a trip.”
When asked for advice for fellow Lottery players, Lackey said she’d encourage other players to “keep trying.”
Lackey, a mother-of-two and grandmother-of-two, added that her prize would “really come in handy about now.”
