BONNE TERRE MAN WINS $50,000 TAX PAID

A Bonne Terre man won a $50,000 tax paid* prize after matching all five numbers in the May 30 SHOW ME 5 Paydown drawing. Robert Rankin, 49, bought his winning ticket at QuikTrip, 850 McNutt School Road in Herculaneum. Rankin let the computer pick his lucky numbers. The winning numbers were: 4, 5, 31, 38 and 42. SHOW ME 5 Paydown, a daily game that changed from SHOW ME 5 last November, has a top prize of $50,000 tax paid along with a paydown feature that if the top prize is not won that night, the other prizes will more than double. The game also offers prizes for matching two, three and four numbers. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 10.97. *The Missouri Lottery will pay 28 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on its value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $73,529.41. After withholding, winners will receive $50,000. If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
