AMOCO EMPLOYEE BUYS LUCKY LOTTERY TICKET AT WORK

A 52-year-old St. Charles man won $50,000 tax paid* on June 6 playing the Missouri Lottery SHOW ME 5 Paydown game. Abdoljalil Abdiannia bought his winning ticket at Amoco, 1500 Rt. K in O’Fallon, the store his brother owns. Abdiannia bought $5 worth of Quick Pick Show Me 5 tickets and checked the numbers the following night. The winning numbers were: 4, 9,13, 14, 25, 1. Abdiannia plans on using the prize money to buy a house for his wife and four kids. *The Missouri Lottery will pay 28 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on its value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $73,529.41. After withholding, winners will receive $50,000. If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
