St. Joseph Woman Claims $100,000 Lottery Prize
A St. Joseph woman believes her prayers were answered with a $100,000 Missouri Lottery prize. Holly Stewart, 34, doubted that she could win a large Lottery prize, but now advises other players to “believe it.”
“I just thought, ‘Oh, I win $50, maybe $25, here and there,’ but never $100,000 would I ever think…” she began. “I say believe it.”
Stewart bought a “$100,000 Payday Bonus” Scratchers ticket at Quick Stop, 6739 S.W. 59 Highway in St. Joseph, and she uncovered the top prize in the parking lot.
“I had everybody double-checking it,” said Stewart, with a laugh. “All we could do was keep on staring at it.”
The mother of four boys said the money would pay bills and help finance bigger plans for the summer.
“We’re going to go on vacation with the boys and live it up for a while,” said Stewart.
The windfall will also enable her to marry her boyfriend of 13 years, Rick Maupin.
“We’ve been wanting a real wedding and just couldn’t afford it,” she explained. “Now, we can do it.”
Stewart said she didn’t know why she chose the “$100,000 Payday Bonus” ticket.
“Something told me to buy it, and I did,” she offered. “It’s like God was watching over me.”
“$100,000 Payday Bonus
” is a $5 game that officially began July 2, 2011. Stewart claimed the final top prize available in the game. Track prizes remaining for any Missouri Lottery Scratchers game here at Molottery.com.
