Troy Man Wins $40,264 Club Keno Prize
A night out with his father and brother gave Joseph Grillo of Troy the chance to play Club Keno. He knew his father liked to play the Missouri Lottery game, so they met at Billy’s Roadside Bistro, 1826 W. Pearce Blvd. in Wentzville, where Grillo bought a winning 8-Spot ticket.
“My dad plays a lot, and I was out with my dad and my brother,” began Grillo, 30. “We decided to find a place that had Keno.”
Grillo said he played a few rounds and then picked some random numbers on an 8-Spot ticket for 10 draws. His numbers showed up right away, bringing him a $40,260 prize.
“I won on the first game, so I just put the ticket away. I didn’t know if I won any more or not after that,” he recalled. “It looks like I did. I was kind of in shock. I had to have my dad look over the ticket, and then I had to have the bartender scan it, just to be sure. It was exciting.”
Grillo texted his wife, Sandy, who thought it was a joke.
“It took a phone call after that to inform her,” he laughed.
The father-of-two plans to pay bills and put money down on some property.
“It’s been great,” he said of the windfall. “Indescribable. It’s life-changing.”
