Hallsville Senior's Spring Break Starts with a Lottery Win

Story Photo audio icon While some kids caught up on school assignments or slept in during their spring breaks, one lucky Hallsville teenager was busy winning the Missouri Lottery. Senior Kyle Baker uncovered a $3,003 prize on a “Bingo Gold” Scratchers ticket. Not only did the 18-year-old become a first-time Lottery winner, but he did so days before taking his first vacation to California.

Baker said he “had a good feeling” about the “Bingo Gold” game when he stopped at Casey’s General Store, 103 Route OO, in Hallsville.

While claiming the prize at Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City, Baker’s mother joked that her son must’ve been really excited about the prize, because “he’s never gotten up this early before.”

Baker plans to use the prize money to “fill up my truck and then buy some clothes.”

Bingo Gold” is a $3 game with a top prize of $55,555 that officially started on Feb. 22.
