ST. CHARLES MAN WINS $50,000 TAX PAID

A St. Charles man is $50,000* richer after matching all five numbers in last Saturday’s SHOW ME 5 Paydown drawing. James Villigram, 44, said he plans to use the winnings to catch up on bills and put some into savings. Villigram purchased his winning ticket at QuikTrip, 955 Bryan Road in O’Fallon. He used family birthdays to pick the winning numbers. They were: 8, 12, 16, 20 and 30. SHOW ME 5 Paydown, a daily game, began Nov. 6 with a new top prize of $50,000 tax paid* along with a paydown feature that if the top prize is not won that night, the other prizes will more than double. The game also offers prizes for matching two, three and four numbers. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 10.97. *The Missouri Lottery will pay 28 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on its value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $73,529.41. After withholding, winners will receive $50,000. If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
