Pittsburg Player Pockets $100,000 Prize
A stop for sodas and cheeseburgers led a 28-year-old Pittsburg woman to a $100,000 dessert. Chrissie Mather and her fiancé, Dustin Medley, decided to try their luck while waiting for their food order at Alps, 3408 Highway 64, in Pittsburg. Mather did a “triple take” when she uncovered a $100,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery “$1,000,000 Payout” Scratchers ticket.
“I didn’t believe it,” recalled Mather, who added that she confirmed the win with a store clerk. “I figured I was reading it wrong. I thought I had to have won $10 or maybe $100.”
As luck would have it, Mather walked away with a winning ticket in her pocket, which she held close to her until Lottery offices opened the following morning.
“I didn’t let it out of my sight,” declared the first-time Lottery winner.
As for plans for the windfall, Mather is looking forward to leading a “stress-free” life after paying off her vehicle and other bills.
“I’m really excited,” she concluded. “I still don’t think it’s real.”
,” a $10 ticket with a top prize of $1 million, officially began on Jan. 10. To date, four top prizes, and thousands of prizes ranging from $10 to $100,000, remain in play.
