Missouri Lottery Honored for Accounting Excellence

For the 12th consecutive year, the Missouri Lottery’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) has received the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting – the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.

“The Missouri Lottery exists to provide funds for Missouri public education, so transparency in our operations is very important to us,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “Our chief financial officer, Judy Gehrke, and her staff work diligently to make sure our CAFR meets the highest standards set forth by the GFOA, including the spirit of full disclosure in Lottery finances.”

The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
