Military Retiree Collects $100,000 Lottery Prize

audio icon Sam Majewski of Belton is $100,000 richer after winning a top prize on a Missouri Lottery “20X” Scratchers ticket. The military retiree purchased the winning ticket at BP Food Mart, 111 N. Scott Ave., in Belton.
Majewski, who scratched the ticket in the parking lot, went back into the store to “make sure I wasn’t seeing things.” Upon receiving confirmation from a clerk, the 70-year-old returned home to share the news with his wife of 24 years.
“She was happy,” he added with a laugh.
The couple plan to put the windfall into savings.
