Having $3 left after buying gas on Feb. 16 was a lucky thing for one Florissant couple. With those three dollars, Mark Snead, 41, bought three Pick 3 ticket for that night’s drawing, one of which turned out to be worth $349. With those winnings, he bought $3 worth of Powerball plays for the next night’s drawing, which was also his son’s 12th birthday. One of those tickets turned out to be worth $100,000. "We’ll spend a little, but most of it will be put away for the kids’ college," Snead told Lottery officials when he claimed his prize. Snead, a plumber/locksmith, bought the winning ticket for he and his wife, Debbie, at Schnucks Market, 8200 N. Lindbergh in Florissant. He let the computer pick the numbers on his winning ticket. Those numbers were: 4, 22, 31, 39 and 41. To date, 517 tickets worth $100,000 have been sold in Missouri since Powerball began nine years ago.
