Macks Creek Woman Using Winnings to Build House

Story Photo Eva Avery is about to do two things she didn’t think would be possible, thanks to winning a $20,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket. The 42-year-old Macks Creek resident is planning to use the windfall to finish building a home with her fiancé, Larry Gazarek, and pay medical bills.
“I am so stoked about this prize,” began Avery, who noted she’d been “up all night” thinking about how the prize would change her life. “I still can’t believe this is really happening.”
Through tears of joy, Avery said she felt “truly blessed” to have won.
“This means so much to me,” she added.
Avery purchased her winning “$100,000 Crossword” ticket at Jiffy Stop, 641 W. Highway 54, in Camdenton.
$100,000 Crossword,” a $5 ticket with a top prize of $100,000, officially started on Dec. 6, 2011.
