The first-time Missouri Lottery winner uncovered a top prize on a “20X” Scratchers ticket he bought at Break Time, 1901 N. Highway 763 in Columbia, in mid-January.
When asked what he was thinking after he scratched off the winning ticket, he laughed and said, “I got very nervous, and felt like I was going to faint.”
As for plans for the windfall, Brooks declared that “grandpa is getting a new four-wheeler.”
In addition, he cited a “vehicle obsession” as the motivation for using the prize money to shop for “new cars, four-wheelers and street bikes.”
“It’s exciting,” he added, summing up his Lottery-winning experience.
,” a $5 ticket with a top prize of $100,000, officially started on Jan. 10. Brooks claimed the first of seven top prizes in the game.
