Bigger, Better, More Tour: Powerball Jackpot on Display

What would $40 million in cold, hard cash look like? That’s the question being answered as the Missouri Lottery’s “money truck” cruises the state with the new “Bigger, Better, More Tour.” The truck will stop at Lottery retailers across the state to offer players an up-close glimpse at the new Powerball starting jackpot.

“Under the new Powerball game, beginning jackpots now start at $40 million,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery. “That’s twice the amount as before, and we wanted a way for our players to be able to visualize just how much money that is. It’s quite impressive to see it in person.”

The “money truck” features life-size stacks of replica $20 bills within its encased glass walls, complete with a crew on board to hand out Powerball coupons so visitors at each event have a chance to immediately try the game.

“It’ll be a great time,” Reardon added.  “So, whether you want to get a coupon to play the new $2 Powerball, or you want to have your picture taken with $40 million in cash, come on out and see us at one of these locations.”

In addition to higher starting jackpots and a matrix change that reduces the number of red Powerball numbers, the minimum jackpot roll will also double to at least $10 million under the new $2 Powerball game – offering bigger jackpots, better chances and more Missouri millionaires.
