Kansas City Man Claims $100,000 Lottery Prize
When he couldn’t find his favorite Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket at his regular stop, Carlos Blanco of Kansas City went looking for it. He found a “$100,000 Payday Bonus” ticket at Truman Town, 4302 E. Truman Road in Kansas City, and was shocked when he uncovered a $100,000 top prize.
Blanco, 58, quickly shared the new with his friend, Jorge Ruiz, who took him to claim the winning ticket at the Kansas City Lottery office on Jan. 5. According to Ruiz, Blanco is a regular Lottery player.
“Normally he would go the same store,” explained Ruiz. “But they said they didn’t have it, so he started driving around. He stopped and got a ticket, and there you go.”
Blanco intends to pay bills with the windfall. He said he was “happy” that he could send money to his family, fix up his house and “keep going.” Blanco bought two more tickets while he was at the Lottery office.
“$100,000 Payday Bonus
” is a $5 game that officially began July 2, 2011. The game features a top prize of $100,000 and is the first Missouri Lottery Scratchers game to have play areas on both the front and back of the ticket.
