A retired Kansas City woman doesn’t have to worry about making any more payments on her car after scratching off a prize worth $20,000 in the Missouri Lottery’s "Merry Money" Scratchers game. Bonita "Bonnie" Lewis, 67, said she had planned to go make a car payment on Saturday, but after buying two Lottery tickets at 7-Eleven and discovering she had won $20,000, she decided to go home to tell her husband, Clyde. At home, she told Clyde that she planned to not only make the car payment on Monday, but that she planned to pay the car loan off entirely. Lewis purchased the winning ticket at 7-Eleven, 8901 Wornall Road in Kansas City, when she stopped for a newspaper. Along with paying off her car loan, Lewis plans to use some of the money for a new roof for her house, and she and her husband might take a trip to Washington to see her daughter and her family. "Merry Money," which went on sale Nov. 3, offers players 10 chances to win prizes up to $20,000.
