Show Me Cash Prize Sends Family Home for the Holidays
Ever since James and Dianna Riley moved to Missouri from Oregon, they’ve been fantasizing about the day they would move their family “home.” A spur of the moment decision to buy a Missouri Lottery Show Me Cash ticket turned their dream into a reality. The couple, who currently reside in Berger, matched all five numbers drawn on Dec. 7, which resulted in a $117,000 prize. The windfall will allow the Riley family to reunite with three of their four children and five grandchildren just in time for the holidays.
James, who is retired from the United States Military, joked that for years he’s been telling his wife that, “Someday, it’s going to happen.” The former non-believer said she was stunned when her husband showed her the winning ticket. They checked the winning numbers on Molottery.com “about 14 times,” and Dianna admitted that it still didn’t fully sink in that they had won a jackpot prize.
James, a self-proclaimed Lottery enthusiast, said that he’s grateful for the prize and the opportunity to accomplish the long-term goal of getting his entire family to live in the same state.
As for what the future holds for the Rileys, James smiled and added that if he ever wins Powerball, “I’ll start buying everybody new cars and houses!”
Show Me Cash
offers a rolling jackpot starting at $50,000, which increases by at least $5,000 at each drawing. The Rileys purchased the winning Quick Pick ticket at Loutre Market, 1381 Highway 19, in Hermann. The winning numbers from the Dec. 7 drawing were: 8, 11, 14, 20 and 34.
