CLINTON WOMAN HELPS FAMILIES REUNITE THIS CHRISTMAS

A Clinton woman is helping her son come home for Christmas and a friend visit her grandparents with some of the $10,000 prize she won playing "Holiday Cash." Wilma "Willie" Collins, 52, said her son only has four days off around Christmas, and he wanted to come home to Missouri from Florida. Since he didn’t have money to fly, he planned to drive, though that would take up much of his vacation time. Now, Collins is sending him money for airplane tickets. "I have a friend who is having a hard time, and she wants to go to Kansas to visit her grandma and grandpa, so I gave her $150 for gas money," Collins said. Collins, who has a scented candle business in her home, said she splurged on a tube of lipstick for herself and paid her and her husband’s personal property taxes. The rest of the money will go in the bank. Collins bought her winning ticket Dec. 6 at Fast Break, 1409 E. Ohio in Clinton. She only bought one of the $5 "Holiday Cash" tickets, and it turned out to be worth $10,000. "Holiday Cash," which went on sale Nov. 3, offers players 20 chances to win prizes up to $100,000.
