Branson Woman Uncovers $50,000 'Bonus' on Way to Box Office
Jennifer White of Branson is used to handling tickets that make other people happy. The 52-year-old sells admission tickets to some of Branson’s hottest shows for a living. However, in early November, it was the mother-of-four that was screaming in excitement while holding a different kind of ticket. White uncovered a $50,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery “Bonus Crossword” Scratchers game.
“I was just running in to grab a couple of Scratchers before I went to work,” White recalled about her decision to stop at Abel’s Quick Shop, 100 Shinn Lane, in Hannibal.
She explained that it wasn’t until the following morning that she discovered an additional word on her ticket, which meant one thing. Rather than winning $5,000 like she had thought, she was holding a top-prize winning ticket.
“I found the word ‘who,’ and I realized it was a $50,000 winner,” she added. “I just started screaming!”
White and her husband, Bill, were “both very excited” about the win.
“We’ll probably put it away for savings for retirement,” she shared. “We may get new carpet in the house, but really nothing too extravagant at this point.”
“Bonus Word Crossword
” is a $3 ticket with a top prize of $50,000.
