Powerball Back in 'Dream' Territory
The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing is back into “dream” territory, estimated at $245 million. The winner could also choose the cash option for $146.2 million.
“Wouldn’t it be amazing to win $245 million right before the holiday season?” asked May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “There are so many things you could do with a jackpot that size. The possibilities are endless.”
Reardon noted that to date, Missouri has had the second most Powerball jackpot winners out of the 44 member lotteries. The Missouri Lottery has had 26 jackpot winners with combined jackpot prizes totaling $1.5 billion.
“Not to mention, three players in Missouri have won a $200,000 second-level prize since the jackpot started building on Sept. 14,” Reardon noted.
Missouri players have until 8:59 p.m. Wednesday night to buy a ticket for the Nov. 2 drawing at one of the Lottery’s more than 4,800 licensed retailers. The drawing is held at 9:59 p.m.
“Be sure to sign your ticket after you buy it, and keep it in a safe place until you can check it,” said Reardon. “Who knows? You could end up like one of the 26 Missouri players who found they held a ticket worth millions.”
