Arkansas Man Makes Anniversary Plans with $14,041 in Lottery Loot

Story Photo Mark Bonnell of Springdale, Ark., will be celebrating his 28th wedding anniversary in style this month, thanks to winning a $14,041 Missouri Lottery Club Keno prize. The freight logistics professional plans to take his wife, Toni, to the Lake of the Ozarks for a date on their houseboat.

Bonnell, 53, credits his “winning attitude” for his recent Lottery luck.

“It’s all about timing, but you also have to have the attitude that you’re going to win,” Bonnell explained, adding that he also believes players should “play on a budget.”

Always an optimist, Bonnell intends to be back at Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City claiming another prize in the near future.

“I won a little more than $4,000 in Club Keno before, too, and I plan on hitting again,” he said.

Bonnell purchased the winning 7-Spot Club Keno ticket with Bulls-Eye at Jukebox Sports Bar, 48 Little Missouri Road, in Jane. He selected the winning numbers for the drawing on Oct. 21 by playing a series of his favorite NASCAR driver’s car numbers.

Club Keno has drawings every four minutes. Players can choose from a variety of play methods by selecting how many “spots,” or numbers, they wish to play.

While traditional Club Keno is available at social environment locations like restaurants, bars and fraternal organizations, the game is also offered at convenience stores, grocery stores and similar locations as “Keno To Go.”
