ARKANSAS WOMAN TO BUY STORM HOUSE WITH $100,000

An Arkansas homemaker is looking forward to buying a storm house after winning $100,000 in the Missouri Lottery’s Sept. 29 Powerball drawing. Margaret Fikes, Blytheville, Ark., said their house, like most in the area, does not have a basement, and the storm house would provide protection during violent storms. Fikes said her husband, Larry, purchased her winning ticket on Sept. 27 when he made his weekly trip to Car-Mac’s Mart and Tobacco in Steele. He let the computer select the winning combination on the ticket. The winning numbers were: 2, 15, 21, 29 and 47. In addition to the storm house, Fikes said they plan to pay bills and buy some items for their home with the prize money. To date, 566 Powerball tickets worth $100,000 have been sold in Missouri since the game began in April 1992.
