Cuba Business Owner Wins $10,000 Playing Powerball

Story Photo Ronald Lewis of Cuba missed the Oct. 15 Powerball jackpot of $105 million by one number, but he was satisfied with his $10,000 win. Lewis, 57, bought a Quick Pick ticket at Petro Mart, 5885 Highway 19 in Cuba, that matched four white-ball numbers and the Powerball number. The owner of Lewis Machine and Tool said he routinely buys tickets and would continue to play for the jackpot.
The winning numbers for the Oct. 15 Powerball drawing were:  5, 10, 24, 38, 43 and the Powerball number was 1.
Lewis said he would use the $10,000 prize to finish his garage. He also added that he would consider adding Power Play to his tickets in the future. The Power Play number for Oct. 15 was four, which would have resulted in a $40,000 prize.
Powerball is a multi-Lottery Draw Game with jackpots that start at $20 million. For an extra $1 at the time of purchase, player can add Power Play and multiply any non-jackpot prizes by a Power Play number selected during the drawing.
