Jackson Man Claims $351,000 Show Me Cash Jackpot

Story Photo audio icon Ivan Holloway of Jackson frequently buys Missouri Lottery tickets while patronizing the American Legion in Jackson. He bought a Show Me Cash ticket on Oct. 19 that yielded a $351,000 prize. Holloway matched all five winning numbers on his $1 Quick Pick ticket to win the jackpot.

“I walked in yesterday and it nearly floored me,” said Holloway about learning of the win.

Several of his friends were sitting around “the office,” as the patrons like to refer to the American Legion, 319 N. High St., in Jackson. They knew that a winning ticket had been sold there, and they were trying to figure out who bought it. When Holloway walked in, the bartender scanned his ticket and said, “It’s Ivan.”

“I’m not sure I wasn’t in shock,” recalled Holloway. “I told somebody sitting there, ‘Pinch me. Make sure I’m not dreaming this.’”

One of his friends offered to drive him to Jefferson City to claim his prize, and then Holloway ordered a round for the house.

He added that his wife, Patricia, demonstrated a similar reaction of shock when he told her of their good fortune.

Holloway didn’t offer any plans for the money, other than padding his retirement.

Show Me Cash” is a daily Draw Game with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until someone wins. This is the 161st jackpot awarded in the game. The American Legion will receive a bonus equal to 1 percent of the jackpot amount for selling the winning ticket.
