Ellisville Student Plans Birthday Cruise
A student from Ellisville is planning a Royal Caribbean cruise for his 23rd birthday after winning the trip on a “Missouri Lottery’s Anniversary Cruise” Scratchers ticket. Michael Feeler bought the ticket “a couple of weeks ago” at San Luis ZX, 1501 Hawkins Road, in Fenton. He claimed the prize on Sept. 28.
“I’ve been hanging on to it,” explained Feeler. “I’ve been busy. I just got home, dealing with school and being a full-time parent. I was excited, but I knew it wasn’t going anywhere.”
Feeler just returned to the St. Louis area after completing a four-year enlistment in the United States Marine Corps. He’s now enrolled in college and studying to become a software engineer. With his birthday coming up in November, he thought that would be a great time to take his girlfriend on the cruise.
“I read on the back of the ticket: first class airfare, they pay for my hotel the night before, $1,000 ship credit and then $500 cash. That’s pretty awesome,” he concluded.
Feeler was overwhelmed by the experience.
“I’m so lucky. I’m very appreciative. I don’t know how I managed to get it,” he offered. “I was just playing for money. Honestly, I was just playing for fun. What are the chances of that?”
“As often as I play, I can’t believe I won,” he added.
