A regular stop at a local convenience store brought a Warsaw woman $10,000. Carla Summers, 51, said she “just felt lucky” when she stopped at Short Cut, 1515 Thompson Blvd., in Sedalia and bought a “$3,000,000 Taxes Paid” Scratchers ticket. She played the ticket at the store and showed it to the clerk.
“The clerk said, ‘You just got lucky, sister,’” recalled Summers.
Summers, who works as a nurse’s aide, said she plans to use the prize money to buy a big screen television and furniture. She may also share some with her three children and use some money on an upcoming trip to Branson.
“$3,000,000 Taxes Paid” is a $20 game that officially began Aug. 13. To date, more than $79.3 million in prizes remain unclaimed in the game.
