Kansas City Man Claims $200,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo A Kansas City man has stepped forward to claim a $200,000 Powerball prize from the Aug. 10 drawing. Jesus Romero, 37, matched all five white-ball numbers selected in the drawing to win the second-level prize. He used Quick Pick to select the winning numbers which were:  11, 18, 36, 41 and 46. He did not match the Powerball number of 38.

Romero purchased his ticket at QuikTrip, 528 N.W. Englewood Road, in Kansas City. The store will receive a bonus equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, or $2,000.

Powerball is a multi-lottery Draw Game with jackpots that start at $20 million. The Aug. 10 jackpot of $220 million was won by a player in Minnesota. A couple from St. Joseph also won the second-level prize in that drawing, but collected a $1 million prize by adding Power Play to their ticket. Players can add Power Play for an extra $1 at the time of purchase and multiply any non-jackpot prizes by a Power Play number selected during the drawing.
