Rosendale Couple Splits $1 Million Powerball Prize

A couple from Rosendale will split a $1 million prize won by adding Power Play to their Missouri Lottery Powerball ticket. Roger and Kimberly Lightle each claimed half of the winning ticket they purchased at Jesse’s Last Stop, 12751 Country Place Drive, in St. Joseph. The store earned a bonus equal to 1 percent of the prize amount for selling the winning ticket, or $10,000.

The Lightles matched five white-ball numbers in the Aug. 10 Powerball drawing. The winning numbers were:  11, 18, 36, 41, 46 and the Powerball numbers was 48. They used Quick Pick to come up with the winning combination.

Powerball is a multi-Lottery Draw Game with jackpots that start at $20 million. Drawings are held on Wednesday and Saturday nights. For an extra $1, players can add Power Play to their ticket and multiply non-jackpot prizes by a Power Play number selected during the drawing. Players who add Power Play and match five white-ball numbers automatically win $1 million.

On Jan. 15, 2012, Powerball will undergo changes. At that time, all match five winners will win $1 million. Players who add Power Play for an extra $1 will win $2 million. Learn more about the coming Powerball changes here at Molottery.com.
