Half of Show Me Cash Jackpot Claimed by Piggot, Ark., Man

Henry Sims’ trip into Missouri to meet up with friends was rewarded with a $106,500 payout from the Missouri Lottery – his half of the jackpot prize after his ticket was one of two to match all five numbers drawn in the July 16 Show Me Cash drawing.

“It’s just one of those things,” the Piggot, Ark., man said. “I went up there, and I bought the lucky one.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Stan Moffitt’s Last Chance, 14509 U.S. Highway 62, in Campbell. It’s a place Sims says he likes to frequent because “it’s close; it’s friends; you know everyone.”

It was one of those friends, using a Check-A-Ticket device to scan the ticket for him the next day, that broke the good news to Sims.

“I didn’t believe him, and I had him do it again. Then the owner checked, and he said, ‘He’s telling the truth this time!’ he explained with a laugh. “I thought I was going to pass out.”

Sims used Quick Pick to allow the computer to randomly choose the “lucky” five numbers for him. Those numbers were:  8, 18, 27, 31 and 39. He splits the $213,000 jackpot with the holder of a ticket sold at Midway Liquor & Gas in New Bloomfield.

Show Me Cash offers a rolling jackpot that starts at $50,000 and increases by at least $5,000 at each daily drawing until someone wins it.  Further details about the odds of winning a Show Me Cash jackpot can be found at Molottery.com.
