Steelville Man Makes 'Mega MONOPOLY' Money

Story Photo audio icon Jesse Viehman of Steelville said his recent Missouri Lottery-winning experience was “unreal.” The retired Missouri Department of Transportation supervisor was in the checkout line at Town and Country Supermarket, 43 E. Highway 8 in Steelville, when he uncovered a $20,000 prize on a “Mega MONOPOLY™” Scratchers game.

“The girl next to me jumped up and down and screamed,” Viehman recalled.

The soon-to-be 85-year-old considers the win an “early present” for his birthday in September.

As for how he intends to spend the windfall, he noted that he plans to “put it in savings, and use a little bit of it to play more.”

Mega MONOPOLY," a $10 game with a top prize of $2 million, officially began on Aug. 29, 2009.
